My children never listen to me...yet...

I told all of my bunch no presents for me this year for various reasons, however there was a spy campaign behind my back this year. Besides two beautiful candles and a box of my favorite white chocolate covered oreos, (Yes I am allergic to chocolate but I can eat and cherish it in small amounts and I have had to hide the oreos for their own protection) I got something pretty darn nifty. My dad had a tradition of always buying me some sort of kitchen appliance for Christmas. It became a family joke because at one time I think I had every sort of appliance one could possibly ever have from a salad shooter to a rice steamer...part of the mystery was figuring out what could be left for him to find.

The tradition continues....but this one? Being an Egg McMuffin/Eggs Benedict aficionado has taken it's place on my counter where it will remain....

Not only does it make perfect Egg McMuffins and Eggs Benedict timed perfectly so that both the egg and muffin are done at the same time? It also does an excellent job with toast and can hardboil or softboil eggs in record time.

So...all in all? I would say it is eggsellent....

I thought my life was complete until now; I realize that I cannot achieve true happiness until I obtain one of these devices.

Didn't Christ have a Beatitude on this?

"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit an 'Egg and Muffin Toaster.'"

I believe it is Matthew 5:6.5.

I admit it was almost a spiritual experience when I bit into my first perfectly done Egg Muffin....

The path to this uplifting experience can be found almost everywhere, including Lowe's...for a mere penance of $39.95.

They also have an awesome website that had me cracking up:

I feel the same way about my Smoothie Maker and Home Cafe. I would be lost without them and don't know how cavemen waited for longer than a minute for perfect coffee

I have a smoothie maker, don't think the kids could live without that. I've looked at the Home Cafe but I'm one of those pot of coffee in the morning type people so I just make sure I buy one that will pause so I can pour that first cup while it's still brewing.

Lisa,

Does the sausage patty have to be precooked, or does this kitchen essential really do it all?

I prefer a sausage muffin w/no egg, thank you ;-)

HT, you have to use a pre-cooked sausage patty because all it does is re-heat it. But it would do a fine job of that without the egg. For your purposes it would be a sausage McMuffin maker. We did experiment with Sausage (with egg here because we are eggy people) and the sausage was heated thru perfectly. It has a special meat warming rack that sits above the egg cooking portion.
