I realize some of the sports experts picked the Chargers to beat Indy today. I really put some thought into it and ended up picking Indy. Did the hype get to them or was it just as the saying goes "Any team on any given day can win" with it ending up being the Chargers turn to win? I didn't get to watch the game though I heard it on the radio. Our local game on tv was San Fran versus Jax for some reason.
Sooo now the remaining team members from the 1972 Dolphins will gather together, in their tradition...and a sigh of relief that until next season? Their record still stands....
I also picked Miami (Yes, I know I said I wasn't going to pick them anymore) sorry Jets Fans. Good week so far, my only loss was the Indy game.

Yes, the '72 Dolphins can relax. Not for nothing, but nobody but Miami fans care about the "perfect season". Though losing isn't fun (and I have had the very little fun this season as the Jets blow not one but two opportunites to get a touchdown to lose yet again. Though Dolphins fans shouldn't be too proud in the fact that almost gave the game away. If it wasn't for bad last minute play calling and Bollinger's lack of experience, the Jets would have been the victors. Not that I'm bitter or anything of the sort) the Colts have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, so it isn't that painful. The last team to get close to the perfect season was the '98 Broncos who lost on week 14, but still won the Super Bowl. (The AFC Championship game of that year still has a bad taste in my mouth that still hasn't gone away. Again, not that I'm bitter or anything)
So, congrats to the '72 Dolphins who still have the record for another team screwing up late in the season.
Colts fans shouldn't care about the perfect record. A Colt fan in my office said that he didn't care if the Colts lose out for the rest of the season. The goal of the game is to win the Super Bowl, being undefeated is secondary. The winners don't get anymore money for a undefeated season.
I just hope that some team will be undefeated while Nick Bonicontti (most likely misspelled) is still alive only because he is really smug about when he is on TV talking about. There goes my evil streak again. ;)
And the sports writers....they are the ones that make an even huger issue out of it at times than we Miami fans...
I agree in the end what matters is the SuperBowl. It's just kind of cool that the record has stood that long. I really thought Indy was going to be the one to break it.
:-)
I didn't get to watch that game - that's a downside to being a Miami fan in Toledo - you very rarely get to watch them play on tv. Didn't have a chance to go to one of the local places that has the NFL ticket because that's usually how I do get to watch them.
I think the chargers are a better team than their record shows.
All I know is my fantasy team got beaten this week, despite having Peyton Manning as my QB.
12-4, tied-for-first regular season, and defeated by a 7-9 team that squeaked in.
I am depressed...
