I've gotten several emails about my David Airhart post, one in particular asks me "How I can consider myself a liberal" and "Who's side are you on?".
This has happened before, evidently you are supposed to only question Republicans and those who don't promote the "liberal" agenda. I'm not a huge anti-war supporter, I've never lied about that. I was not particularly supportive of Cindy Sheehan's early message, especially since it included that silly demand for the Bush twins to enlist. I believe and support her and those like David Airhart's first amendment right to speech and their right to protest. But that doesn't mean I have to swallow everything that is presented as facts. I research things, I question things, and sometimes I get confirmation that the story is accurate. Sometimes I don't.
To me it's all about credibility. If you exaggerate one portion of a story, chances are other parts are exaggerated as well. If you are factual and certain facts can be proven then you are more credible.
So Who's Side am I on? The side that wants to find out as much truth as possible. Hopefully the same side you are on too.

BINGO!
Many people just don't get it, Lisa. "It" is all about T-R-U-T-H.
I get slagged by people on both sides of the aisle for being a sellout to the other side.
I, like you, am devoted to one cause: digging out the truth, wherever it happens to be found at that moment.
If partisan types want to label me in one fashion or another, so be it. Truth holds no loyalty to any party or ideology.
We all know that people just need to be on my side. I am almost always right and stuff.
I question war protestors for motive. I don't like people who complain about their time in the military like it was a surprise what happened. Cindy Sheehan annoys me because her son signed up and it is shitty that he died, but she took a worthwhile question and turned it into a PR campaign.
Recruiters have been lying since the Revolution any job that gives you 30 days of vacation a year from when you start has to have a down side.
Lisa,
Most people don't want to think for themselves, its way to hard.
Lisa questions, and researches and makes up her own mind, based on her findings.
She finds the truth wherever it lies.
There is no right or left, only truth, for those that look for it.
I like that about her; it's refreshing and makes for intelligent conversations.
I wrote one of the people that interviewed him and asked him about it. He didn't seem to want to believe me about the traffic ticket, he stated he could find no record of it. He also stated it was probably a simple matter of mixing up dates. Which isn't the case since there is no debate on when the war started or when that particular unit went over to Iraq. Only thing that seems to be up in the air is the difference of the definition of six months.
Thanks HT, I feel the same way about you and yeah me4 that's why you are running for president because you are always right.
:-)
That, and for free golf
