Toledo Blade really spins a yarn this time

For a moment I thought I was reading some fiction novel rather than a newspaper when I read today's latest attempt to help Jack Ford win re-election.

This statement especially as can be found in the above link:

And in a debate last week, Mr. Finkbeiner spoke as if the election between Mayor Jack Ford and him were already decided.

"I would hope that during the course of the next few weeks as I select leaders to be with me for the next four years that the experience of the last four years would help me in making those choices," Mr. Finkbeiner said.

That is a very misleading representation of what was asked and answered. For that? We go to the video of the mayoral debate on channel 13. Part one of the debate:

(This is an "unauthorized Lisa transcript")

(21:40) Mr. Finkbeiner, when you were the Mayor the hinges on the front door of City Hall needed oiling an awful lot because your staff turnover was pretty high. If you take office again do you expect to have that same rate of staff turnover and why or why not?

(21:55) Roberta, We had changes in certain departments that was true, other departments my Utility Director, Don Mielene (sp) was there the full 8 years. Bob (?) who is here served me for the full 8 years, we had several that did. It was a pedal to the metal program to get this city revitalized, I got the city revitalized without question 78% of Toledoans agreed with it. I would hope that during the course of the next few weeks as I select leaders to be with me for the next four years that the experience of the last four years would help me in making those choices and as I indicated to you the patience level will be a little greater but I still want the passion to move this city forward because it desperately needs it.

So, he was asked IF you take office again. I'd also point out he's made it very clear that he is not being over-confident. On Channel 13 the night that the poll results were listed? They reported:

Well the results of the 13 abc poll tonight are in and they are stunning. For one candidate they indicate a huge potential victory....

Sure, some of Carty's staff is predicting a victory, as well as some of Jack's staff. So to try to make it appear that Carty is being arrogant? The Blade must think alot of people are stupid....

The Blade (pronounced "Bleeahh") counts on people being stupid, namely its' subscribers.

Mrs. Thunkit gets it for the coupons, I have kitty litter chores, so I do benefit from it too...

I'm too busy to read it. Iget the REAL news online!

I only read it online, we don't even get the Sunday paper on a regular basis anymore. I get most of my coupons online or from magazines.

I did get it when we have had puppies though...I use the cardboard cases that six packs of pop come in for my litter boxes, the box fits in them and helps keep the litter from "tracking" even though I buy "trackless" litter (another laughable name). If you break the back flap the box sits right in and viola! Easy clean up.

Wednesday Blade headline prediction.

If J-Fo wins it will read,
"Jack Ford strikes knockout blow against racist tyrant!"

If Carty wins, "Democrat elected Mayor".

I finally saw their last debate. Carty one the debate hands down...it was painful to watch Jack squirm. Watching them shake hands at the end was an interesting look at the confidence and character of each of them.
