Oh my...so far? In trying my best to be unbiased? I never thought I'd say this but I'd even rather hear Denny on one of his Catholic bashing tirades than what happened today on WSPD. The whole segment on names was boring, his attempt at being witty about slamming Toledo is failing and? I'd suggest he rent a home rather than buy one, he might not be here long enough to want to purchase a home if today's show is any indication of what can be expected on the 3 to 6 time slot on WSPD.
He does not appear to like kids, and he compared Sylvania to Stepford - lmao
But if you hurry? Doesn't seem like he's getting lots of calls so you'll get to be on air for quite some time. I'm not sure how much of this I can take to try to get thru the whole show. I also wonder about "Elaine" who likes him so far...If people are being paid to call in or to listen to this? I deserve to be paid....I can see why he says it's the "Show that never ends"..it feels like it.

It looks like Frantz is being demoted and set up to fail.
Nobody will listen to spdy at 6 o'clock.
I fired off an email earlier expressing my displeasure and recieved what amounted to a form letter stating they were "hammering" out the details and to stay tuned.
Bullshit, I'm switching to WJRor ESPN 1000 out of Chicago.
They still haven't returned any of my emails not even with a form letter.
2 hours now; boringgggggg...
I know I'm gonna have nightmares :-(
But, I am tryinggg.

He said that Hannity would follow, but...

I doubt that I'll listen tomorrow, gonna scan for something interesting to listen to instead.
Nope, nothing about how long the show will be or even if it is daily. Or if they are dropping Hannity. Now that would almost be worth it...How many people listen at night though? I don't know anyone who listens after 6:00 -
I think I will start my own show and bring it to Ohio. The "Me4Presidential Bitchfest" sounds like a good title

I, too, was unimpressed with Wilson's first day, what he titled a "Getting to Know You" show.
He talked about bass fishing (snooze), Luna Pier (snooze), his bass boat (snooze), and had a lame attempt at dissecting political correctness by throwing out a few outrageous examples that only the diehard language Nazis would agree with.
Then his switch to local issues featured everyone's favorite slimebag Bob McCloskey, who declared that he and Wilson are going to be "good friends."
He gave McCloskey about 10 minutes to butcher the English language (actually, Bob didn't sound like a moron today).
There is also something odd about Wilson's enunciation; he tends to slur some word endings, or maybe he doesn't wear his microphone right.
I am not ready to write Wilson off yet, but I expected more from Day One.
If this is Wilson's best, Bob Frantz looks like a radio God.

I agree Mike it was not a good first show and the whole "buddies with Billboard Bob" did not appeal to me at all. I was getting tired of all of the real estate agents calling him. It was like helloooo do we really care where you buy a house?

Please believe me when I say I'm not fond of Brian Wilson, but being involved within South Florida radio in a rather obscure way, may I enlighten you to a few tactics radio "shock jocks" employ for listeners.
And to think I took money out of an incompetent radio counsutant's pocket.
Trashing people, places and things.
Share his/her extreme political views.
Belittle the sidekick.
Whack-Jack radio intern stunts and prank phone calls.
What Brian DOSEN'T understand that Toledo's market already has one of the above several times on several stations. It's basically "who is more flagrant and exploited" that will garner the Arbitron scores.
Between you and I, Lisa, what Toledo needs is a talk-show host that will open the phone line to allow callers to voice their opinions. A talk-show host that has opinions, but won't dwell on abortion, gun-control or legalizing marijuhana, personal agendas or anybody under 18.
Once that format is established within the community, you'll have a station clocking it's competitors in it's time slot..buku cash rolling in and respect. It's already been done here in South Florida, and these same two talk show hosts have been doing their sctick for over 14 years.

I'm beginning to think alot of those who complained really don't care enough to even sign a petition. Or they somehow thought the last page meant they had to pay to submit rather than it being a suggested donation. All they had to do was ignore that and submit.
Typical for Toledo, people bitch but don't do anything.
