Something for the bloggers...

Derek Powazek at Technorati writes some interesting stuff. This one is a link for "How much is your blog worth"?

Well of course I could not resist. I figured mine would be worth maybe enough to buy a cup of coffee....I was surprised (too bad I can't cash this puppy in - lol)

My blog is worth $29,356.08.
How much is your blog worth?

Sigh...

My blog is only worth $3,951.78, according to the calculator.

Like you, I wonder how you cash in (besides selling ad space).

Of course, the intagible factor is the amount of exposure that a blog can bring you, whether you are a politician, businessperson, or lowly writer (like me).

I do meet people once in a while who say something like: "Wait a minute - are you historymike?"

(dramatic pause)

I guess some fame is better than none.

Yes, some fame is better than none, sides I think the reason mine is worth more is the links from the blogrolls I'm on.

Similar to how I became an adorable little rodent.

I just feel that your blogworth would rise incredibly if you had a public excution of all the virtual rodents. But that's just me. Maybe the anonymous sex link will make the blog worth more as well. ;)

hehehe C, now it looks like you are talking to imaginary sex spammers..

Did anyone ever figure out who was buying blogs?

Could it perhaps be the (declining) MSM?

I wonder...

This price thing that technorati came up with is based on a value per link ratio that aol used recently to determine value. It really doesn't mean much since our blogs really have no financial value.

The buying or influencing blogs seems to be coming from the political camps. One of the reasons I feel if blogs want to advertise political campaign money should be avoided if they want to remain unbiased.
