I forgot my place, I forgot you are not supposed to disagree with the mighty Armando.
Okay I'm being extremely snarky but I thought it was funny. Here was my reply to his question:
The stupidity is
Bothering to try to have a rational discussion without insults and name calling.
The never ending saga of if you don't agree with me you must be either stupid or a troll?
How about neither? That I happen to realize when you allow a Republican President to be elected that having a Conservative nominated for the Supreme Court is pretty much a no brainer.
There are many names that were mentioned that I would believe a fight is necessary over. Rogers-Brown as one example.
If you separate emotion from this, John Roberts does at least have some very positive attributes even for a Conservative Judge.
It's become obvious that Kos is not much different from Excite, between the drama soap opera stuff I try to avoid and the never ending "How dare you not agree with me".
Another black mark against my liberalism I'm sure. Eventually I might have to change to Formerly Liberal Common Sense....

Yes, how dare you not follow, lock-step, with preconceived notions of what it means to be "liberal," Lisa.
Why, that is the kind of radical talk that's going to get you a visit from the Department of Fatherland Security or something.
Free thinkers...BAH!
(Note: historymike was shooting for irony here, so no lectures from posters who didn't pick up on this, please)
Just answer yes. It doesn't help to argue with them and they will spend hours trying to figure out what your yes answer means
After reading the excahnge that you had with Armando, it seems that you won the debate. The first person who calls the other stupid, troll, or worst has lost the debate. So you gotta him good.
It seems that it is exactly like the excite borads. You may have free speech as long as you agree with us. If not, we will call you very bad names and try and make you cry and feel belittled so that we can feel better about ourselves.
If you really want to piss off everyone, just rename the site Common Sense. That way both sides will go crazy that you decided not pick a side except your own.
I got the irony mike and I enjoyed it, thank you.
I can't do that me4 you know how I just have to be stubborn,
and C? I'd love to but someone already has common sense, someone also has HT's idea of uncommon sense. I'm surprised you read thru all of that, the format there is not really conducive to good discussion when it gets long.
So looks like I'll just keep confusing them with "liberal" common sense,
:-)
i just learned the other day that kos is only 25. we should go easier on him. he makes mistakes (and i'm not surprised at all to see what happened to you), but he's just a kid.
Armando isn't Kos, Kos is Marco or at least that's what I thought.
I've noticed since that this is a very common response if you disagree with him. I have no idea how old Armando is, but since I have kids younger than Kos? Guess I'm old enough to be his mommy.
:-)
Armando is a jackass. He just fouled up a Hurricane Katrina thread yesterday by bickering with anyone who took issue with his "New Orleans Spared The Worst" headline. I lost a whole weekend arguing with him earlier in the year over whether Jeff Jarvis was right-wing or not (Armando said yes, I said no) before I realized that he's not worth the time and effort.
Kos, Armando and Excite are in the realm of trolls;-)
And, Tom has the right idea, "...before I realized that he's not worth the time and effort."
Also, Kos and Excite are known to cause ulcers in the presense of common sense and any attempt at civil discourse ;-)
BTW, you're absolutely right about the mediocre Rogers-Brown...
