Parents in the Middle East need to stop this before the next generation is even more violent than what we are currently seeing. Many condemn (rightfully) encouraging children to become suicide bombers, especially in Palestine. There has been alot of media coverage given to this. However, it is not just Muslims or Arabs that are guilty of this. Parents in Israel have used their own children as roadblocks to protest the upcoming disengagement from Gaza. Teens are being encouraged to incite violence in Gaza. Palestinian children and Israeli children take turns throwing stones at each other as well as worse.
In today's Jerusalem Post such actions here reported would be talked about every where, unfortunately there this has become too common.
Meanwhile Sunday, Supreme Court Justice Ayala Procaccia rejected an appeal by six 13-year-olds arrested during the Muwassi stone fight last week and extended their remand. Police have arrested 31 suspects so far who allegedly participated in the clashes. Procaccia called on the police to conduct their investigation as quickly as possible to avoid the extended detention of the minors.
"This was a violent event which included seizing a Palestinian building and injuring one of them," Procaccia wrote in her ruling. "The violent incident was directed by an ideology-motivated wild mob that put people in danger."
Also Sunday, 13 minors jailed in Masiyahu Prison in Ramle faced disciplinary charges after they wrote in their cells: "Sharon Hitler is proud of you" and "Death to Arabs." Prisons Service officials said the youths also called for the murder of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
We often say, Children learn what they see, and in the Middle East? They are learning violence.

It's a damn shame to see this. It is going to take two to three generations to brek the cycle of violence and prejudice. We are about two generations away from the 60's civil rights movement, yet there are racial tensions. They are fewer, but just as violent. Our chilren may see the beginning of the end to this countries prejudice.
In the Middle East, this is a sad comment on the parenting. Hate those people for they will kill you for not believing in their god. Now this may be a bit simple minded on my part, but Islam, Judaism, and Christianty came from the same part of the world; wouldn't logic suggest that these roots are bonded by the same God? just like the Crusades, this fighting is stupid and pointless.
Sure, it is easy for me to say these things, halfway around the world, but wouldn't these parents want their children to end the fighting and live in peace with all? What the hell do I know? I'm just some smuck from Jersey.
Well this "loser crackpot blogger" from Ohio asks the same questions. What's ironic about the story of the six 13 year olds is they are girls too. So it's not just the assumption that the male teens are being encouraged to be violent.
I don't know what it's like to live in a place where that type of struggle happens, so I try to temper my feelings on it. That said I still cannot imagine a situation where I would place my children in danger or use my children to further my religious beliefs. If I as an adult felt it was worth protesting that would be one thing but no one seems to grasp the point that they are dooming their children to keep fighting the same fight they are. That goes for both the extreme Palestinians and the extreme Israelis.
