Four daughters and the many proms...

With having four daughters, two of which are now in college, one is in high school and one is in 6th grade, you become almost an expert on formal dances. There are certain things you can guarantee, such as no matter how much one loved a dress the chances of another daughter actually agreeing to wear the same dress is pretty much zero. Dress styles that I like or my favorite prom hairstyle will most likely not be the dress or the hair style they like initially but we usually end up agreeing on something similar. Deciding on a hair style and buying prom hair accessories can take almost as long as shopping for the dress because while tiara's seem to be popular here this year not every hair style looks good with a tiara. Both of my older daughters have tried a different style of an updo with many small silver or gold beads inserted by a hair pin that created a very stunning look. Here in our town the proper after prom attire is something the girls also consider since their local school district sponsors an after prom party. I have one prom to go with my high schooler, who I must say as a biased mom looked awesome for her junior prom last year:

Then we have a brief lull until my youngest is old enough for homecoming and prom adventures which is a bittersweet thought. Some of the moments of crisis with the older girls when they were positive "everything was ruined" have turned out to be ones we now can laugh about.
